Have you ever wondered how to put voices to a cartoon? In Cartooning Around, we will get into "funny-bone" mode by creating character voices and creating a cartoon to understand how voice can be a tool for character development. Through fun games and activities, we will open up our imaginations to different volumes, pitches, tones, and practice vocal clarity to create different characters. With your amazing storytelling skills and crazy voices we will bring your visions to life! We will also learn the basic foundations of theatre and acting on stage. Bring your laughter, imaginations, and your silliness to this fun-filled evening!
Malachi Key is a student at MCC aiming to transfer to Baylor to get a degree in Special Education, and eventually a PHD in Clinical Psychology. He has been working in various roles in the theatre world for about 5 years, performing with PATH Co-op in Amman Jordan, Waco Civic Theatre, and the Mjdway High Panther Players. He has performed in, directed, and written various plays over the years, but his first passion is still acting, with personal favorite performances being in “Bye Bye Birdie”, “The 39 Steps”, and “Baskerville”. Though he’s been a long time admirer of their incredible shows, this is Malachi’s first time teaching at CYT, and he’s incredibly excited to join everyone this year!
