Class Description

Have you ever wanted to write and perform your own short show? Well now is your chance! Try your hand at retelling a famous story using music we all know and love to create a musical of your very own! In this class, we will go from Story to Stage with our very own scripts, sets, actors, directors, costumes, props, choreography, vocals, and everything in between. Make your mark in Making a Musical!


Melissa Lohr

A Central Texas native, Melissa Lohr is a graduate of Baylor University with degrees in Sociology, Educational Psychology, and Curriculum & Instruction. Growing up, she spent numerous hours in traveling show choirs and pit orchestras in addition to her 16 years of experience in violin, viola, piano, and vocal training. Melissa is the Academic Advisor and Head of Recruitment for Texas Tech University here in Waco. She is so thankful and excited for the opportunity to live in her favorite city in the world while working for her favorite theater program in the world!

Location Notes:

Gym is in the community center, located around the back of the building.  Parking is by the Community Center entrance.
