Class Description

Composer Richard Rodgers and lyricist-dramatist Oscar Hammerstein II has been called the greatest musical theatre writing team of the 20th century.  They created a string of popular Broadway musicals in the 1940s and 1950s, initiating what is considered the "golden age" of musical theatre. Six of their Broadway shows, Oklahoma!CarouselSouth PacificThe King and ICinderella, and The Sound of Music, were outstanding successes.

In this class we will be visiting songs and movements that make each one of these musicals so successful!  Join us as we take a walk down Musical theatres iconic history and see how these timeless musicals made such an impact.
